any colleges for philosophy?

Adelle Weight: I don't know of any colleges that do not teach Philosophy -- other than specialty schools like Art Schools. On the undergraduate level, the best schools for philosophy are also the best schools overall. Schools like those in the Ivy League, Duke, Stanford, Chicago, NYU, Rice, etc are all excellent. Surprisingly, MIT has one of the best philosophy departments in the world. The better public universities -- like Berkeley, Rutgers, Minnesota, Michigan, Virginia, etc are also very good. You are right that lots of "Christian" schools offer philosophy -- but concentrate on the religious side. However, most Catholic Universities separate their philosophy departments and their religious studies departments. Philosophy at the better schools is NOT taught from a religious point of view. Philosophy at a school like Georgetown, Boston College, Notre Dame or Villanova would be real philosophy. The Gourmet Report rankings of Philosophy Graduate programs is below. ..! .Show more
