Branden Roddick: Changing schools from a school you like to a school you hate sucks :/ I had to transfer when I was 13 from a school I loved to a school I hated because my mum had a seizure and couldn't drive me so I had to go to one where I could catch a bus. Like you, at my new school I had no friends, everyone made fun of me, and people were generally pretty horrible. Luckily I found one girl who I got on really well with and we're still best friends today, now we go to the same University, and next year we're living in the same house with some other of our friends! Also because I hated my school so much, I spent loads of time holed up in the library doing work, or working on my singing as that was what I loved to do - and because of the amount of work I did, I achieved loads :)I guess what I'm saying is try and make the most of the situation; sometimes things have to get really bad in order for you to find an amazing silver lining. There must be ONE person in your sch! ool who you might get on with, find them - and find something, a hobby or a subject that you love and want to pursue. Things might not look great right now, but YOU have the ultimate say over your future, try to accept the situation and take something positive from it - it might not be clear to you right now what positive thing you can possibly find, but I promise you that the best things come from the crappiest situations....Show more
Hwa Waterford: There are none that are cost effective at this time. Best bet is Smaller more efficient gasoline car, Hybrid, or better yet smaller more efficient Diesel.Do not believe all the hype about Hydrogen, Air, Electric, etc., etc. It is simply B. S. in terms of cost efectiveness and reliability. If it were not B. S., they would be selling like hot cakes and would have been used in Japan and Europe for years. Gas prices have just gone high in the U. S. Japan and Europe have been fighting very high fuel costs for many years. They! both have well educated societies and millions of some of the! best engineers in the world. Are people actually stupid enough to think they are waiting on the U. S?DUH...Show more
Marhta Teahan: Ford sold something like this car nearly twenty years ago. I believe it was in 1988 they started selling the Festiva. It was made by Kia with design input from Mazda. EPA MPG was 35/42 with 5 spd. With careful highway driving, 50 MPG was possible. In 1994 it evolved into the Ford Aspire. With the same 1.3L engine, it had enhanced styling (one auto writer described the Festiva as looking like a "cinder block"). The Aspire had a redesigned suspension with 13 inch wheels instead of the tiny 12 inch on the Festiva. Weight increased by 200 pounds, but EPA MPG was nearly the same at 34/42. The Aspire was sold thru 1997. Then it was more focus on the guzzlers---unecessary, but highly profitable, trucks and SUV's.Who killed the Aspire? The documentary films, "Who Killed the EV-1" and "An Unreasonable Man," are required ! watching to help answer this question....Show more
Patrica Loertscher: Hydrogen...Costs a bit. Electric...have to replace batteries after about five years. Scooter...Got kids? Some pacific islands use oil from coconuts for diesel engines!!
Noah Deni: My old school was PERFECT, unfortunately, my mom lost her job so we had to move to the ghetto side of town. My new school is HORRIBLE! I've already been here for 2 weeks and its awful, the teachers don't teach you anything, there are gangs, everyone acts so ghetto..and I miss my old freinds!!!!! Btw all the girls at my new school hate me..for NO reason! They just don't like me an they make fun of me. I really hate my new school. What can I do?! Btw my moms car got towed so driving to my old school is NOT an option. This is my 9th grade year and I don't want to spend the rest of highschool at this horrible school...Show more
Giovanni Malool: there was mention of an air car do check out this site and see what w! as, what is, and what is going to be available. the battery technology ! is changing with better alternatives to the lead acid battery.
Jon Bergmeier: Well Ford is one of several auto companies which are developing plug-in hybrids. They're planning to start selling them within 5-10 years.
Marylee Lucks: Those figures were for an Aspire automatic. An Aspire stick was rated at 38/54. What killed the Geo/Aspire? CAFE laws. They only made the Metro and Aspire because they needed some hypermileage cars to pull up their Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE). Once the mainstay of their fleet caught up with CAFE requirements, they dropped them like a hot potato. That's why Chrysler never made one, they were already caught up. The Reflex is the right idea, especially with the diesel. The Chip Foose concept looks will quickly fade away, and it'll end up looking like a Taurus. Still I hope they build it....Show more
Galen Gowers: Who knows? But I bet now that after these new mpg laws have passed, Ford and the other automakers w! ill want to incorporate some of the ideas in this car into actual production vehicles. whether or not they make that exact one is anyone's guess, but most concept cars are just that....nice concepts, but not much reality. They're gonna have to start making them more fuel efficient somehow though.
Demetrius Coaster: diesel - but you need a vehicle that runs on diesel. Typically a modern diesel engine will provide 40% better fuel economy compared with a gasoline engine which provides similar performance. For example, a Jeep Liberty with a 3.7l V6 gets 16 to 18 mpg in mixed city and highway driving, where as one with a 2.8l CRD (which will actually accelerate faster) gets 25 to 28 mpg under the same conditions....Show more
Hal Palowoda: you are an Idiot! Sorry bout that. Your not an idiot. Just ignorant (not sorry) working with, "creating", storing, etc. Hydrogen is extreemly dangerous (ask any chemist). Forget what you see on youtube, That's all fake, they've ! been doing those experiments for over 200 years!!! Nothing new, just a ! neat trick/demonstration they are using such tiny amounts as to be totally useless!!! OK, Don't f#ck with that stuff!!! Get It!!!
Refugio Gastineau: Compressed air. It's the worlds cleanest car. It's scheduled to be on the market in 2008. Let's all get it and get out of this oil crisis.
Doreatha Kjellsen: biodiesel or WVO (waste veggie oil.)
Coleen Carignan: The cheapest conversion at this time is to switch your existing car to propane .... The clean air fuel.....it costs less than gasoline and you get a tax credit for using it.
Derrick Kloke: 1-Make anything run on hydrogen: What you're asking for is not possible: Detailed but not Complicated? It is not simply a matter of transporting hydrogen into a combustion chamber to run, say a car, on hydrogen. There is a slightly complicated solution to get a car to run on natural gas, and you could copy that method and see if it works for hydrogen gas. I would hazard a guess, and say that no it won't work! in an ICE. Reason being, with NG you have the equivalent of an octane rating of 102, meaning you can set the timing on the engine to fire at the correct interval and the engine will run, with the proper modifications to the fuel supply. With H2? I can't tell you how fast H2 will burn in air, but my guess is that it is much faster than NG.2-A hydrogen fuel cell: Fairly complicated. Try making a model. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_cell 3-Hydrogen jet engine: Ok that's possible. First, you need H2. Easiest way to get that is from an acid-metal reaction. Ingredients:1- Bottle of hydrochloric acid (HCL). You can get this from a pool supply store. You may be able to substitute sulphuric acid.2- Aluminum foil.3- Empty PLASTIC milk jug4- Tape5- CandleSo, take a small sheet of aluminum foil and crumple into a loose roll. Put it in the milk jug, tape it to one side, near the top. Drill a 1/32" (1mm) hole into the lid of the milk jug. Pour in the HCL until it just barely touches! the Al Foil. Turn the jug on it side so that the foil is dry, the HCL ! is on the other side. Put the lid on. Cut the candle so that the wick is at the height of the milk jug, place it near the jug. Find a way to make sure it stays upright. Light the candle, then flip the milk jug over so that the HCL soaks into the Al Foil. Line up the hole with the candle. Back away from the jug, and watch. What should happen: The HCL will react with the Al to make Al-Cl and H2 gas. The gas pressure will force H2-air mixture out the tiny hole. When it hits the candle it should ignite, creating a small jet engine, propelling the milk jug along the ground. What might happen: The H2 could be too diffuse to ignite: too much air, not enough fuel. The H2 could burn into the milk jug, causing it to explode. 10ft (3m) away, and you should be safe. Just don't let anything rest on the milk jug, else it could become a projectile and hurt someone. DONT USE A GLASS MILK JUG. Glass does not show up in an X-Ray, and it is very hard to see in a wound. If you get hit with a s! hard of glass, you'll be very miserable for a very long time. Assuming it doesn't kill you. Don't say I didn't warn you....Show more
Norine Lomonte: There is yet no practical alternative to gasoline, diesel is slightly cheaper, but the price of diesel fuel is also going up with the price of cruse oil. the same is true for cooking gas.but the good thing is that the rise in the price of crude oil and all it;s derivatives caused a dramatic increase in the budgets allocates for search of alternative fuels sources, and more fuel efficient cars, and I believe that in a few years the introduction of such alternatives will also cause a reduction in the price of gasoline....Show more
Soraya Coodey: I know how you feel! I'm at my 5th school right now cos we've moved around so much! All you need to do is not get stressed and maybe start a conversation up with those girls? What sort of things are they interested in? Base a conversation around something like that. You could e! ven make them jealous about something. Find a cute guy and ask him out.! Maybe then, they'll wanna be your friend. If that doesn't work, you could get a bus to your old school?...Show more
Coralie Goldsberry: If they think it will sell, then they will build it. It certainly looks good, unlike most hybrids, and with proper performance, it could be a success.
Phil Kuarez: As far as we know there really aren't any yet. Unfortunately any alternative fuels are often more expensive, Hydrogen isn't anywhere close to being at every gas station and ethanol according to some recent studies releases more carbon emissions then fossil fuels, although if you have a flex fuel car it will cost you around 25 cents cheaper per gallon then regular gasoline. So its up to you but fossil fuels are still the most efficient. Best Idea is ride a bike when u can.
Mohamed Szollosi: Hydrogen production units that would provide just fine for a single gas station have been built that run off of the power grid and convert water to hydrogen that work just f! ine. They don't require fossil fuel. There are many ways to generate electricity. It is an area that needs work. Strangely enough water is still the best source for hydrogen. Reforming it from oil results in trace amounts of carbon monoxide being left in the hydrogen gas. That results in quicker distruction of the fuel cell's fagile membrane that generates electricity. This is the main issue stopping hydrogen fuel cells right now. It is purer, but more expensive to get it from water....Show more
Wilmer Skidmore: I need a detailed plan on how to make anything run on hydrogen for me to recreate. Not to complicated. Maybe hydrogen fuel cell instructions, or how to make a hydrogen jet pack( doesn't have to lift someone, just a model that can still fly alone)
Mildred Pombo: Gasoline is still the least expensive of available fuels.
Russ Kiernan: hydrogen
Maynard Reevers: synthetic oil
Lita Thammorongsa: I know there's a better chance that the Reflex ! concept won't make it to production, but do you think Ford will produce! something like it? I mean the styling is way advanced and looks like a foreign concept, has an electric diesel hybrid engine which features up to 65 mpg, uses recycled rubber from Nike shoes to make the interior quiet, and solar cells along the roof and headlamps that charge the battery power the A/C and fans, and also power the head and tail lights.
