Are these kinds of weddings Haraam?

Lady Laflin: Its not actually Haram. Those are the tradition of our countries but not the traditions of Islam.Like in Pakistan, same thing happens as it happens in your weddings.Well, dancing in Islam is forbidden in Islam on certain conditions a girl cannot dance in front of other non-mahrams but can dance in front of other girls. May Allah forgive me if I am wrong.Me...having less info over this actually....Show more

Fritz Sisomphou: Its better not to dance

Jannie Ariola: @Kells: As I said there will be no men in the party, and when the guy comes, there is no more dancing.

Abby Herwood: No they're not haram. Nowhere in the Quran does it say that dancing is haram (of the non-sexual type) and our cultural dances are not of a sexual nature. The wedding you described are newer weddings. Traditional Somali weddings that were done up until just about 7-10 years ago were 7 days long, women did not cover their hair and wore guntinos not diracs which are not Soma! li in origin - they are from Yemen, and most days men and women danced together. In my opinion, we are losing the meaning of the Quran in our ambition to appear pious and fit other people's definition. Islam is the submission to GOD, not others....Show more

Rocio Karvis: Haha Buraanbur is so fun though.Lakiin Niiko ani waan nacbahay!but yes it is haram, but i mean no men are there to see it.but still, dancing itself is Haram. Why dont you go ask someone at your local mosque?...Show more
