Carolin Southers: No he doesn't get bored. Entertain him by holding up different little toys and playing with them. Let him touch him or brush them against his face. Play music or sing to him.
Horace Escue: yea when they are that young a baby doesn't really need to be entertained...(please don't confuse this with not being played with and given love and attention by mommy and other family) I just mean that they really have no interest in anything else besides..eating, sleeping, peeing & pooping lol, and LOVE.Does his vibrating seat have a little toy attached to watch? I always have my son in that and he LOVES to watch it...it has little animals and waterfalls that move around. Walk him around the house and let him look at himself in the mirror...they love this!Another thing I try with my son is reading to him....he obviously has no desire to look at the pictures at 6 weeks old but he loves to hear you talk and reading is great for him to learn sentence structure ! and such...change your voice while reading and he will be amazed! My son loves it! He loves to watch and listen to me. Hope these ideas help. :*)...Show more
Mitchell Pickens: Hi, I have 12 weeker and a 18 month old. At 6 weeks my son started crying-we found out he has colic. Even with all the crying he still loved his swing. He enjoyed tummy time on the playmat (the kind with the 2 arches with toys attached). But the one thing that was the best is a Baby Bjorn type carrier--it straps to your chest. Baby will be happy to be moving around, you won't be giving up bonding time to the swing and furthermore-you can get stuff done around the house. Babies around 6 weeks of age really enjoy high contrast pictures and things like that. Think black and white images. Think bullseyes, swirls, thinks that make our eyes hurt lol. This is fascinating to them and important to their vision development! Other things you can do is sing, talk etc. Baby loves to hear your soothing voice.! Also, let baby sleep. When babies are sleeping-they're growin! g. For your baby to sleep plenty is wonderful. I suggest you join www.babycenter.com it's a great website for new parents and will give you great ideas and general knowledge for your new career as a Mom :) Best wishes!...Show more
Adrian Sherlin: He does have a bouncy chair that viberates and plays music, also has a toy bar that hangs in front of him. He's just started to bat at the toys. But that only entertains him 5 minutes or so. He LOVES his cradle swing and will sit in it for hours just swinging away and he'll fall asleep in it too, but I dont want him spending TOO much time in it... I just need some other things to do with him so he doesnt cry all the time.
Kim Gerbino: Dance in front of him and blow some bubbles.
Hilde Heskett: Sing him songsMusical mobiles Read to himTalk to him about whats going on talk out loud while doing thingsmusic toys teddy bears rattles patty cake let him hold things show him how to hold things anythign works...Show more
Mozell Sponsler: At 6 weeks old babies just need a lot of stimulation and contact with you. Music and mirrors will definitely entertain your son. You could also get one of those bouncy seats with the music and toys that hang down for the baby to look at /play with if you don't already have one, of course. It is starting to get really cold out but if you have a membership at the YMCA or something you could take him for a swim.
Frederick Mccoach: Just talk to him. Sing songs, read stories and cuddle him. He just needs love right now :)
Lorine Helwick: Mrs Smith, we do have a baby bjorn carrier for him. HE HATES IT! Cries the instant he's put into it and wont stop until we take him out. And I do belong to the baby center. com website, its a good one.. Thanks for the advice.
Verena Koop: Babies don't need to be "entertained" in the way we often think of entertaining. Everything is so new to them, and too much "entertainment" can make them overstimu! lated and grouchy. Babies don't always need something actively enterta! ining them. If he's crying all of the time I would suggest that he *is* too stimulated and could use a break (and a nap). Babies can enjoy something and still be overstimulated. He's still little, so entertaining him through one sense at a time works really well. You can combine two senses at once, but more than that can be too much.Since he isn't using his hands yet, sight and sound are two really easy senses to entertain. What are some cool things he can look at and cool things he can hear? Soft or simple music can be really entertaining, especially if it's coupled with your facial reactions. You can even hold him snuggled up on your chest and "dance" with him. You can also give him tours of your home. Pick him up and walk around the house with him slowly and point out really "cool" things and tell him what they are for. I remember my husband doing this once and telling my son that "this is the refrigerator, and it is where all of the good stuff comes from." De! pending on his mood you can do one room, or you can do the whole house. Then when you do it again you can point out different things, or tell him something new about the same things. You can even show him your tube of glitterly lip gloss and tell him about the time you wore it and thought it looked great (or horrible). Tummy time is also a really important way to entertain him, even if he doesn't enjoy it too much. When he starts grasping things you can give him a bunch of different things to grab onto and analyze when his toys get too boring. The remote control for the tv, an old dvd that was scratched, a wooden spoon, your lip gloss, or whatever can be really entertaining for him to look at as long as he isn't being bombarded with stuff. Also when he gets a little bigger you can start experimenting with touch and feel. The blanket feels soft while the carpet feels a little rough. The tree outside feels rough while his stuffed animal is snuggly.(btw, I really don't! like baby bjorns either. They seem to put the baby's weight in an awk! ward position; I wouldn't expect a baby to want to sit with all of his weight resting on his pelvis and his arms and legs just hanging there. Fabric carriers are a good option, though. http://mayawrap.com http://mobywrap.com)...Show more

Dick Maisenbacher: So far I've had no complaints from my 6 weeks old, so I can only assume that he has no criticisms about the service! lolHonestly, at this age, there is nothing boring about their lives. Lying there staring at one thing for eternity might seem a little dull to us, but to the! m it is new, exciting, and stimulating.Just think, they still can't see all that much, but their sight is improving. At birth they could only see about 12 inches away. At a month and a half they are getting close to recognizing people by their facial outlines and are responding to color. While Peek-A-Boo might still be a bit off, giving them a close up and playing mimicking games with them (copying their facial expressions and seeing if they copy yours) can keep them happy.Since color is blooming for them using stimulating objects that have a high definition, like black on white, gets their attention. They are capable of tracking objects so see if they can follow a bright toy.Hearing has a great impact on their lives as well. They respond really well to high pitched voices, so Moms win! lol Copy any sounds that they make, and ask them questions, making sure make the pitch of your voice go up at the end of the question so that the baby knows when to respond. This happens to ! be one of my son's favorite games.Another favorite of his is bath time.! ..he absolutly loves it and just hearing the water calms him. I cup his head in my hands and let him float between my legs. He loves to kick and twist. He even gets some great exercise standing and will even walk in the water with me holding him up! This is Mommy's favorite game! Lol Nice and relaxing even if I still can't shave my legs! You seem to have the physical games well in hand! Don't you just love how they smile and coo at you. Makes all those sleepless night worth it! lol Congrats on making it through the first 6 weeks....Show more
