Maye Delk: Sorry, but regardless of the circumstances the cost of primary education is not a tax deductible expense.
Burt Cheevers: You don't have to pay for primary education. You can find an alternative so I don't think it's tax deductible. If it's in Germany, does it still qualify for US taxes since you're living over there? If anything, perhaps a dependent care expense. But I'd assume you would need to itemize for that.

Alberto Kozub: There is no charge for sending your children to DODDS, assuming that you are military, Federal civil service or a SOFA status contractor and the children are command sponsored. Even if there was a charge, the cost of primary and secondary education is NEVER tax deductible.
Evelin Turlich: Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, just because you work with the government, the cost of education is not ! covered. I have 2 children and the cost was 25,000 each for one year of school.
